Our Purpose
The Center’s co-founders,
The Center’s mission is to advocate an emerging 21st-century business model at a time when business leaders face a bold new marketplace where competition is fierce, consumers are educated and innovation is the chief currency. The Center will challenge CEOs and their teams while helping them focus on a sustainable culture that empowers people and enhances their bottom line.
Our members will have access to world-class authorities and developmental tools that together will provide a competitive advantage.
Transformation:
Modern business was fueled by the Industrial Revolution, a major shift in economics when manual labor was replaced by one dominated by industry and the manufacture of machinery. Advances in transportation, energy and technology gave birth to a new business philosophy centered around finance rather than people. The business model in place today is a stagnant holdover from the Industrial Revolution. Worker bees place round pegs in round holes while management handles profit margins. It does not have to be this way. Transformation must take place. In fact, businesses that refuse to create a new business model will not enjoy the success they experienced in the past.
Today’s marketplace is rife with competition and filled with educated and demanding customers. Today’s consumers have any number of choices to find what they need and no longer make decisions based solely on price. The ultimate goal of any company is to rise above the clutter and stand out on the horizon. How does a company do this? Traditionally, a slick ad campaign followed by a temporary reduction in price was the answer. The modern corporate citizen must be able to provide service that is experiential, memorable, effective and timeless. The emerging business model must be built around the people.
The time is ripe for another workplace revolution, one driven by culture and synergy. A business must be about more than profit. Organizations must be about people. They must instill a sense of higher purpose in employees where providing quality service comes naturally.
As we begin to bring this innovative business initiative to the forefront of modern business, we will partner with like-minded organizations through national conferences, reference materials and resources that will help create a revolutionary workplace where people thrive and profits soar…in that order.
The Center is dedicated to creating a conversation with business leaders to develop a new paradigm for their company. The workforce will become empowered, efficient and effective while consumers will return for the experience as much as the product.
Innovation:
A company’s ability to implement bold, new ideas in a radical manner will be how it differentiates itself from the competition. Understanding the key role innovation plays in the day-to-day operation of any business determines its future. Innovation doesn’t just happen, though; it is a process fostered and nurtured in every corner of the operation, not just the corner office.
Nothing happens in any organization without people. Building a successful workforce requires motivation and a sustainable culture the team believes in. That is 90 percent of the challenge: developing buy-in from team members and coaching everyone to pull the same way at the same pace to reach the same goal. Teamwork represents the cadence of success, and it is a sound that is music to the ear of any results-driven business leader.
Culture-driven companies understand the economics of business ethics. Operating ethically and profitably must not be mutually exclusive. Ethical leadership is a touchstone for The Center’s experts, who will deliver focused presentations on the importance of building and sustaining a values-driven culture. They will help senior and mid-level management teams harness their leadership potential, allowing organizations to break new ground.
Yet it is even more than that. As business paradigms continue to shift, organizations will look for ways to distance themselves from the crowd. The Center believes it is important to help the 21st-century business leader understand physical fitness is as important as fiscal fitness. We will assist our members by providing innovative and practical health-care solutions that shift a company’s focus from treatment to prevention.
Execution:
It’s one thing to discuss successful business practices in theory. Getting results is the challenge. It takes focus and a plan. The CEOs and their teams will be coached on how to take execution from discussion to delivery.
The single biggest challenge of any organization is discovering how to get a diverse workforce to operate as one. The Center believes fresh ideas pave the way for organizations to develop a superior business model that will be successful in the 21st century.
The Center separates itself from traditional business seminars because it provides content and implementation for executives AND their teams in a seamless, cohesive manner. In addition to providing annual leadership summits featuring world-class speakers, The Center will provide time for CEO’s to personally interact with Dr. Stephen R. Covey in an intimate setting designed to help business leaders implement solutions geared to impact the bottom line. The Center will challenge and coach CEO’s and their teams to build a corporate culture focused on people, ethics, wellness, execution and leadership.
Dr. Covey, perhaps the world’s leading authority on leadership and business ethics, has partnered with The Center to provide a consistent message over the long term. Both Dr. Covey and The Center want to equip the next generation of business leaders with the knowledge necessary for building a culture-driven, people-centered organization.
In addition, Dr. Kenneth Cooper, one of the foremost authorities on corporate wellness, is embracing The Center’s commitment to corporate wellness and will have a consistent presence on conference agendas.
The Center will make available to its members a library of information aimed at keeping them on the cutting edge of execution, innovation, performance and sustainability. Members not only will reap the benefits of the leadership summits, they also will experience the services inside their businesses from Center leaders to reinforce the important concepts of people, ethics, wellness, execution and leadership. This will help the CEO and team members develop a sustainable culture centered on people and profits.
Understanding and applying ethical principles on a day-to-day basis in the workplace is just part of the equation. Building a people-centered culture takes more than people. It takes commitment on the part of each member of the team. It is about exceeding expectations, delivering results and providing superior performance that provides competitive separation in a crowded marketplace.
